With a track record of transforming competitive gaming into mainstream entertainment, he brings decades of hands-on experience in event execution, strategy, and brand integration.
At Major League Gaming, when esports was still proving itself, Joseph wasn’t just running tournaments—he was building a movement. He helped turn grassroots passion into a global phenomenon, proving that gaming wasn’t just a pastime but a cultural force.
That foundation led him to Esports Engine, where he designed high-impact gaming experiences for some of the biggest brands in the world. He then joined the NBA and the NBA 2K League, where he spearheaded strategy and league operations for the NBA’s official esports venture, creating immersive activations that connected brands, players, and fans on a massive scale.
Now, as Co-Founder of XGC, Joseph helps brands, sports leagues, and tech companies not just enter gaming but own their space. Whether it’s event production, high-growth strategy, or industry-shifting activations, his focus remains the same: building movements, not just moments.

An expert in content strategy, video production, and project management, Matthew Hoeger is a versatile producer in the sports and esports industries. He has worked with major gaming and esports brands like Electronic Arts, EFG, and Sony, making him a go-to source for brands looking to create compelling content and engage their audiences.
Matthew began his career in traditional sports media. At NBC Sports, he sharpened his editing skills in fast-paced sports broadcasting, producing daily programming for shows covering Bay Area franchises like the Golden State Warriors and San Francisco Giants.
His expertise led him to Electronic Arts and Esports Engine, where he managed the entire content production process—from project management and concept development to directing, editing, and delivering polished final products. He played a key role in content creation for the FIFA Global Series, Madden Bowl, and Nissan Heisman House Challenge.
Now, as the co-founder of XGC, Matthew helps brands with custom content, project management, and sponsorship activation, helping them grow their presence in gaming and esports.
